What we repair

Most "fire alarm faults" fall into a handful of categories: a flat back-up battery on the panel, a contaminated detector triggering an unwanted alarm, a damaged sounder circuit, a stuck manual call point or a panel firmware fault. We diagnose each in turn rather than blanket-replacing devices.

Repair vs replace

On older panels (early-2000s Menvier, Cooper CF, Notifier ID2000) some parts are no longer manufactured. Where a part is obsolete we'll quote a like-for-like board replacement first, and a system upgrade second, so you can make a commercial decision rather than being pushed into a full new install when a repair is still viable.

Out-of-hours and emergency callout

If a panel is in continuous fault or activating randomly, the priority is to make the building safe and document the actions taken in the log book. We attend, isolate the affected zone if needed, get the system back into a monitored state, and book the follow-up repair visit before leaving site.

Certificate and log book

Every repair visit closes with a BS 5839 repair certificate, a log-book entry naming the engineer, and a brief summary of root cause — useful evidence if the alarm activated for the fire and rescue service.
