Fire Door Hub
Fire doors, done properly.
A correctly installed FD30 or FD60 door is the single most important passive fire protection element in a building. Parsec Fire installs, inspects and certifies fire doors across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire — with full traceability, photographic evidence and BWF / IFC-certified door sets.

Learn moreWhat is a fire door, really?
A "fire door" is an entire assembly — leaf, frame, intumescent seals, hinges, closer and ironmongery — tested together to BS 476 Part 22 or BS EN 1634-1. The FD rating (FD30, FD60, FD90, FD120) is the minimum number of minutes the assembly holds back fire. An "S" suffix (FD30S) adds cold smoke seals, which is the residential default for sleeping risk.
The most common failure we see on site isn't a missing door — it's a certified door fitted with the wrong gap, the wrong hinges, or a closer that no longer closes properly. Each defect voids the certification.
Why it matters
- Smoke kills more people than flame — an FD30S door buys 30 minutes of survivable conditions in the corridor.
- Fire doors are mechanical assemblies. They drift out of compliance through everyday use, not just damage.
- Under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, communal doors in buildings over 11m must be checked quarterly.
